iFixit is a proud member of the #RighttoRepair movement, which seeks to make it easier for everyone to fix their stuff—whether that’s visiting a local repair shop or getting parts and tools delivered to your door. The U.S. PIRG Education Fund’s report from earlier this month, “State of Right to Repair,” describes recent changes in the Right to Repair movement and lays out a roadmap for continued progress. Cameron Schammert was 13-days old when his heart stopped. With instructions from a 911 dispatcher, his mom and dad saved his life. The dispatcher explained how to properly do infant chest compressions, using two fingers in the center of the chest, about a half-inch below the nipples, and reminded Kym and Bill to cover Cameron's entire nose and mouth with their mouths when breathing into his lungs. Kym did the first few rounds, alternating 30 compressions with two breaths. Then Bill took over for two rounds. Finally, Cameron let out a cry. His skin pinkened again. Seconds later, paramedics arrived and rushed the baby to the closest hospital. The baby would be OK. This #HeartMonth, we want to make sure every parent is ready when it matters most.
