BIG thanks to Google for a $500,000 donation to the National Forest Foundation (NFF) supporting the Ladybug wildfire mitigation project. This project near Stampede Reservoir is one of many to restore 60,000 acres forests to protect TMWA’s source water quality. Seed funding for Ladybug was approved by TMWA’s Board of Directors in 2022 (along with state, federal and private funding). Now with Google’s contribution, this project is now fully funded! Ladybug was also a catalyst in the formation of the Middle Truckee River Forest Watershed Partnership, a collaboration focused on protecting the forests of the Middle Truckee River watershed against extreme wildfires. Outdoor Watering Restrictions Lifted With the improvement in conditions related to the Davis Fire, TMWA is canceling our request for southwest Reno residents to refrain from outdoor watering. Please feel free to resume normal watering patterns. Thank you to all impacted residents for your cooperation with the temporary outdoor watering restrictions during yesterday's heightened concern over the Davis Fire.
