???? When I began using behavior modification to transform my life back in 2004, I had no idea about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. ?? Dr. Aaron T. Beck developed CBT in the 1960's to treat behavioral and mood disorders. Later, I realized that a lot of the self-help books I was reading directly or indirectly incorporated this method. ?? As I began studying psychology to become a wellness coach and certified personal trainer, I fell in love with the ability reshape my life, and the life of those around me, with small steps. One was provided by my juvenile institution (Indian River) that allowed me to discover my public speaking and community service voice. The other two exposed me to books that reinforced my love of reading and learning personal development techniques. All of them involved CREDIBLE MESSENGERS that caught my attention with relatability and authenticity. ?? Everyone in the service of transforming the lives of young people for the better is an individual piece towards a bigger picture of impactful change. That picture becomes clear when the pieces fit together instead of laying sprawled out. We have strengths that can mitigate the weakness of others.
