The Tropical Innovation Festival hit NYC this past weekend! ??♀??? Our very own Kate Montgomery proudly represented TIF at the iconic New York City Marathon, tackling the 42.2km race with the heart and determination that embody our festival’s values. With the support of Tara Diversi cheering her on across five spots along the course, Kate completed her fifth marathon all with the biggest smile on her face throughout the race. Plus, a big shoutout to some very familiar faces from our TIF speakers, with Jake Ellwood and Tim Brewer also competing / showing support through the race. The 2024 Deep Dive into Indigenous Innovation, led by Marc Harbrow and Destiny Dewis, featured key insights: Shelley Ware spoke against online bullying and racism; Melanie Hava and Leesa Watego explored the fusion of art, nature, and business; Matt McLeay and Louisa Warren stressed protecting Indigenous IP; Elaine Stead encouraged clear communication; Shane Kennelly and Esther Gaffney emphasised mentorship; and the health innovation panel, with Johnny Murison and others, showcased technology's role in healthcare through trust and partnerships.
