Tropic Air Rescue was mobilized by ARS and the Florida Division of Emergency Management for “OPERATION BLUE RIDGE” to provide search, rescue, and medevac services to the western half of North Carolina, ravaged by Hurricane Helene. Our missions included locating stranded persons in mountainous regions, with which North Carolina abounds. Multiple agencies and private citizens collaborated on the relief efforts. In addition, we delivered generators and supplies to isolated communities. All assets have now been recalled to Florida to assist in preparations for the impending storm, hurricane Milton. Please exercise extreme caution and prepare accordingly.

We successfully executed our inaugural nighttime rescue mission in the Bahamas, providing medical evacuation via helicopter to a member experiencing cardiac complications. This marked the first occasion of a civilian helicopter undertaking a nighttime medevac operation in the Bahamas, and we are honored to have effectively served our member in their time of need.

Last evening, we received an urgent call from a member's family and sprang into action. Their son was spear fishing in the Bahamas when he was struck by a passing boat, but thankfully, he is expected to survive thanks to the quick response of his friends and our team. We were able to transport him to the Ryder Trauma center in Miami in just 35 minutes. It's unfortunate that his parents' rescue insurance company did not provide adequate coverage, but we are proud to have been able to provide the necessary assistance. We are here to serve and respond to any emergency situation that may arise.

In an incredible demonstration of our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional medical transport services, Tropic Air Rescue successfully reached a new milestone today. Upon receiving a call regarding a gravely ill person on a cruise line, our team diligently gathered all necessary information before launching our state-of-the-art helicopter, ensuring the quickest and most efficient transport possible. With the help of our skilled flight team, medical team, and the cruise line medical staff, we safely transferred the patient to Jackson Medical Center in Miami, a feat made possible by the seamless collaboration of all parties involved. This achievement marks the first use of our innovative Helicopter Air Ambulance program in the Bahamas, a program that has been in development for two years and was once doubted by many. At Tropic Air Rescue, we stand ready to provide unparalleled medical transport services, whenever and wherever they are needed.
