As we progress on our 26MW hybrid power system project in New South Wales, which includes a 10.7MW solar farm, we are pleased to share the progress of this project with Pacific Energy. It is a key part of Tronox’s decarbonization roadmap and our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 50% by 2030. This system will enable our Atlas-Campaspe mine to operate using up to 40% renewable energy, displacing nearly five million litres of diesel annually. We’re making timely progress delivering a new 26MW hybrid power system at Tronox’s Atlas-Campaspe mine in the southwest of New South Wales. This hybrid power system comprises a 10.7MW solar farm alongside a 3MW/6MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) and 12MW of thermal generation. It’s set to power Tronox’s mineral sands mine using up to 40% renewable energy and displacing nearly five million litres of diesel every year. ?The solar farm mechanical build is progressing well, and the inverters have landed onsite. ?Our in-house designed and manufactured BESS has been factory acceptance tested and is ready to mobilise. ?All 104 poles for the 13km-long high-voltage distribution system have been installed and wires are strung, with pole-top equipment installations wrapping up this week. ?Engine hall construction is well underway, with all structural steel installed and sheeting in progress. ?The project is on track to wrap up by mid-2025. The system will boast our specialised hydrocarbons-off functionality, enabling Atlas-Campaspe to operate solely on renewable energy when solar power production outweighs minesite load, which we expect to be most days. #energytransition #powergeneration #solar #solarpower #bigbattery
