It’s been nearly 40 years since John and Terri Freudenberger first caught the entrepreneurial fire and opened a machining business called Industrial Steering Products. Its specialty: Manufactured steering components. Our company began to evolve and shifted our focus from machining to fabricating. We outgrew several facilities over the years, and in 2010, we were thrilled to settle into a newly-renovated 93,000-square-foot facility in Hamilton, Indiana. That same year, we started a new chapter with the opening of Triton Metal Products. We continue to run Industrial Steering Products to serve our steering component customers. Today, Triton Metal Products has become a thriving family enterprise that serves a growing list of clients representing a spectrum of industries. We could talk all day about the many aspects of Triton and how hard we've worked to do it right, but we'd rather explain the why behind it all. Making a meaningful difference... in everything we do, and for everyone we meet. Our customers, our team members, our communities, and even within the metal fabrication industry.

  • Feedback is essential for maintaining quality, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a growth-minded culture. But let’s be real: feedback is easy to talk about but much harder to give—or receive. Effective feedback requires trust, clear communication, and the courage to engage in meaningful dialogue. It’s not just a box to check or something to rush through to ease the discomfort of giving it. It should be a tool—a way to build stronger relationships, better companies, and even better versions of ourselves. At the end of 2024, Triton launched a new team evaluation system to align effective feedback with personal growth. Developed in-house over eight months, this system was guided by our new core values and now serves as the backbone of continuous improvement for our people. ?? (Oh, and don’t miss the swaggy graphic tee worn by the team here, handed out at Triton’s last all-company meeting of 2024 to celebrate the forward steps taken throughout the year.   • Our biggest achievements in life started as things we once “couldn’t” do. From learning to walk as toddlers to mastering skills in adulthood, every milestone achieved was once a “not yet.” As we close 2024, our message comes from what we’ve learned together as a company this year in pursuit of our bold 10-year target: to operate the most dominant manufacturing system in the U.S. ??Give yourself permission to be a work in progress. Progress over perfection. ??The greatest courage required for transformational change lies in our micro-moments—continuing to show up day to day, moment to moment, even after setbacks, flops, and failures. At the start of 2024, we took a hard look at ourselves, confronting the ways “Triton gets in Triton’s own way.” While we’re not claiming to have revolutionized anything…yet—we’re celebrating the necessary steps forward we’ve taken together as a team. Here’s to building momentum—one step at a time, knowing that today’s evolution is tomorrow’s revolution. Happy New Year, everyone!

  • Becoming dominant in your field requires a unified team, the foundation of any best-in-class company. Reflecting on 2023, Triton recognized the need to strengthen our teamwork, making it one of our four key missions for the year. Exceptional organizations are built on exceptional players, developed through genuine care and appreciation. For us, we’ve chosen to pursue this through creating team-building traditions through fun, shared experiences. As you can see, we've had a lot of fun leaning into this in 2024. We hosted our inaugural annual company picnic, had a blast at another annual golf outing, continued our fall festivities tradition at Ridenour Acres, and most recently, surprised everyone with the announcement of our first formal company Christmas party—complete with our most outrageous holiday attire. We're excited to continue bringing our team together and witnessing the transformation in our collective performance. By fostering a strong, unified team, we're not just building a company – we're creating a community poised for success.

  • Positivity in the workplace is a huge win, and sometimes it comes in the form of silliness. It all started with Cole, our press brake group lead, who shares the National Day with the team daily. This time, the production team saw a golden opportunity coming: National Speak Like A Pirate Day. They planned accordingly, and the team dressed up in pirate gear. Coincidentally, this day aligned with our monthly All-Hands meeting - a time when our entire company gathers to reflect on the past month and look ahead. For the first time in the meeting’s history, the room was filled with pirate hats. Even the speakers got into the spirit, passing a pirate hat from one to another as they presented. This simple act of silliness brought brightness to our team and reminded us all of the power of fun in fostering a positive work environment. ??????

    If you could choose a superpower, what would it be? ?? As a child, and even now as an adult, this remains one of my favorite questions. It often reveals a lot about a person's creativity. When someone initially chooses "to fly" or "to be invisible," I encourage them to dig deeper. What superpower would truly transform their life and the lives of those around them? I'll admit, the idea of flying is as cool as it gets. It would make my commute more enjoyable, save on fuel costs, and eliminate time spent at security checkpoints. In fact, I loved the idea of having the super power to fly so much, I tried it. (photo for proof) After testing the idea, I can share that gravity did it's thing, I can not fly. Thankfully, I chose to conduct my first test flight safely connected to a professional who was trained to operate a parachute. Moving forward, until I join an airline, my feet are firmly on the ground. Instead, I've focused on developing my own superpower during my personal growth journey, which I call "Radical Self-Awareness." Like most superheroes, I am still fine-tuning this superpower. So far, it has enabled me to understand how my personal values, beliefs, and experiences shape my internal thoughts and external reactions. This awareness helps me pause and ensure that my actions, messages, and thoughts align with my personal mission and business goals. Every skilled leader knows that while you can't control what happens, you can control how you respond. Whether leading a team or simply striving to better oneself, it's crucial to be mindful of these "micro-moments." Often, great achievements result from many small actions performed well. As a leader, I'm committed to continually harnessing my superpower of "Radical Self-Awareness." Though the concept is simple, the practice is not always easy. I constantly reflect on my presence and consciously choose how to improve. Embracing this superpower has profoundly impacted both my personal and professional life. Becoming a more conscious leader has not only created opportunities but also attracted other impactful leaders to my team. Additionally, it has enriched my relationships with friends and family, allowing for deeper connections. Simply choosing a super power and focusing on maximizing your ability to flex that muscle, will make a meaningful difference in your life, and those around you. So, if you could choose a superpower, what would it be? ??
