#ThrowbackThursday Located at the southeast corner of Greenwood and Archer in north Tulsa, a 11,000 square foot history center honors the legacy of Black Wall Street before and after the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The museum's goal is to serve as an educational gateway in remembering both Greenwood’s triumph and tragedy story, as well as, provide a platform for discussions about history and race relations. We completed The Greenwood Rising museum for the centennial anniversary of the massacre in 2021 with Apax Glass. This project is special not only for its cause, but also for its glass cool worthy due to the size of the units that are an awkward 84"x84" and a very large 90"x166". Vitro Architectural Glass's Solarban 72 Starphire over 3/8" starphire was used in completing this project. Two more fun facts about this project and location include: the museum was listed as 7th in USA Today’s Best New Attraction of 2021, and the streets that surround museum, Greenwood, Archer and Pine, represent the acronym for The Gap Band- an American R&B and funk band consisting of 3 brothers from the Tulsa district.

It’s Not always the big ones that stand out! This ORU job were doing with Apax turns heads in Tulsa. We started standing walls NOV 20th . I’m pretty impressed with this crew. Those spandrel areas have back pans with insulation. These guys really stomped on the gas and it Looks like we’ll wrap this up in a few weeks. January 5th is National Bird Day! In relation,?We will discuss a feature available for our glass: Bird Safe Glass. Bird-safe glass is a type of glass that has a pattern or design on the surface to make it visible to birds. The pattern can be dots, lines, silhouettes, or UV reflective. Bird-safe glass aims to prevent birds from hitting windows and injuring or killing themselves. The pattern is usually subtle enough not to affect the transparency of the glass for humans, but visible enough to prevent birds from trying to fly through the glass. A (not quite complete, but soon to be) project?currently using bird-safe glass is the Cedar Hill Library in Cedar Hill, Texas. Using SB70 VT Clear as the low-e and etched with Walker BirdGlass, they won't worry about birds hitting their glass! The pictures included are renderings of the upcoming building. Equity Glass Co.
