Trailblazing Thursday: Honoring Diana Natalicio ??? This Women’s History Month Thursday, we celebrate Diana Natalicio, a visionary leader from Texas who transformed education and opportunity for countless students. As the longtime President of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), Diana dedicated over 30 years to expanding access to higher education, especially for Hispanic and first-generation college students. Under her leadership, UTEP became a national model for student success, proving that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not—a gap she worked tirelessly to close. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she found her true home in El Paso, where she championed bilingual education, research excellence, and diversity in academia. Thanks to her bold vision, UTEP became a top-tier research university, and she was named one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2016. Diana’s legacy reminds us that education is a powerful force for change. Let’s take her determination into this Thursday and beyond! ???? #WomensHistoryMonth #TrailblazingThursday #DianaNatalicio #EducationMatters #TexasLeader #BreakingBarriers

Women’s History Wednesday: Soaring with Bessie Coleman ???? This Women’s History Month Wednesday, we celebrate a true sky-high trailblazer—Bessie Coleman, the first African American and Native American woman to earn a pilot’s license. And guess what? She was born right here in Atlanta, Texas! In the early 1900s, Bessie dreamed of flying, but no U.S. flight school would accept her. Did she let that stop her? Not a chance. She packed her bags, learned French, and traveled all the way to France, where she earned her international pilot’s license in 1921—years before Amelia Earhart took flight! When she returned home, Bessie wowed crowds as a stunt pilot, fearlessly looping and diving through the skies. But her real mission? Opening doors for others. She wanted to start a flight school so Black men and women could take to the skies too. Though her life was tragically cut short, her legacy lives on, reminding us all to dream bigger, fly higher, and never take ‘no’ for an answer. #WomensHistoryMonth #WomensHistoryWednesday #BessieColeman #DareToDream #AviationPioneer #TexasTrailblazer

Trailblazing Tuesday: Honoring Ann Richards ????? This Women’s History Month Tuesday, we celebrate Ann Richards, the bold and charismatic Texas governor who shattered glass ceilings and championed equality, education, and women’s rights. Born in Lakeview, Texas, Ann made history as the 45th Governor of Texas (1991-1995), becoming only the second woman to hold the office. Known for her sharp wit and fearless leadership, she fought for public education, diversity in government, and economic opportunities for all Texans. One of her most famous moments came during the 1988 Democratic National Convention, where she famously said, “Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels.” ??? Ann Richards paved the way for future women in politics and proved that strong leadership, humor, and heart can change the world. Let’s take on this Tuesday with her fearless spirit! ?? #WomensHistoryMonth #TrailblazingTuesday #AnnRichards #TexasPolitics #WomenInLeadership #FearlessAndBold
