What a year it has been: I launched a new organization and grew another little human ?? with the amazing support of the Cyn Torres, Trio Network, FFCT strategic advisor, and our partners at Duet. I am excited to be back and to continue the work. This time last year, we had 7 learners in our pilot cohorts enrolled @ Southern New Hampshire University through Future Forward CT. Check out what we've been able to accomplish in a year: ·?64?learners enrolled with SNHU & Future Forward CT ·?68%?persistence rate among our learners ·?3?learners earned their Associate's Degrees ?? in less than a year and are currently enrolled in a BA program with SNHU. ?8 learners are on track to finish their degrees in the next few months. ·?1 learner enrolled in the BA program is 3 credits away from completing their degree. ·?76%?of our learners are on track to earn their degrees within three years ·?11?is the average # of credits earned per term, which is impressive given that most of our learners are full-time employees and caregivers juggling many responsibilities. ·?2?new team members joined me and Cyn Torres. Attallah Sheppard, Director of Student Success, will lead our work to achieve strong learner outcomes through the degree to new career opportunities or advancement. Jason A. Howell Jr., M.Ed., Enrollment Manager, supports new learners through the application and onboarding process to ensure they are ready for a strong start! We are proud of our work so far. Year 2 will focus on expanding the student experience and growth by maintaining and establishing partnerships with community leaders and organizations to serve even more working adult strivers who want to earn their college degree for career advancement, economic opportunity, and upward mobility Special thanks to our advisory board members, learners, and partners at Duet, Southern New Hampshire University, and Trio New College Network for their continued support and belief in our mission. Completing my Associate's degree through Degree Forward (I am still working on my BA in Communications) has been one of the best decisions I've made. The coaching and flexibility have helped make my dream a reality.
