"Drama isn’t just about acting. It’s about building confidence, creativity, and real-world skills." ?? Mark Freestone, Speech & Drama Teacher at Sherborne Girls, switched to Trinity College London’s Acting syllabus in 2019. With his professional acting background, Mark felt Trinity’s flexible approach aligned more closely with real-world acting. Through the Trinity exams, Mark nurtures his students' acting techniques while building their creative expression. His teaching method emphasises "play" and imagination, creating an environment where students learn to trust their instincts and experiment freely. Mark’s approach impacts all students, including those who struggle with public speaking. One neurodiverse student, who had initially failed an important interview, progressed through Trinity’s Acting exams to achieve Grade 8. She delivered a powerful performance at the school's final showcase, marking a major milestone in her growth. “Drama encourages students to trust their instincts and express their opinions freely. There are no ‘wrong’ answers in drama, only different ways of expression.
