We recently hosted a traditional "meet and greet" with 35+ professionals at the Park Avenue Club. No agenda, no name tags and plenty of food and beverages. It was loud, vibrant and engaging. Mostly everyone remained for four straight hours. A nice mix of business technologists, sales executives, company owners and solopreneurs, job seekers, friends and clients. We encouraged everyone to be intentional during 2025 while forming and building relationships that truly matter. One call to action was to schedule and confirm just three 1:1 offsite meetings before calling it a night. Believe it or not, the "Handshake Formula" suggests an astounding 595 encounters, assuming every one of the 35 participants are able to calendar a meeting with all other 34. Conversations revolved around several concepts: > Building a Sales Community - Randy Seidl > “You Already Know Everyone You Need to Know” – Bob Beaudine > “All Great Change in America Begins at the Dinner Table” – Ronald Reagan > “It’s more than an engagement; it’s an encounter” – Deacon Frank Owens > “In nurturing relationships, vibration is not movement” – David Nour > "You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want" - Zig Ziglar Corp ? 2025 should be a productive year for all! One more point: GO IRISH!! BEAT Buckeyes

HAPPY THANKSGIVING And now, bless the God of all, who has done wondrous things on earth; Who fosters people's growth from their mother's womb, and fashions them according to his will! May he grant you joy of heart and may peace abide among you; May his goodness toward us endure in Israel to deliver us in our days. 1 Sirach 50:22-24

I was recently asked to contribute to a LinkedIn article entitled, "Here's how you can uphold assertiveness and confidence during challenging or high-pressure situations." My primary response rested on the topic of PREPARATION Let’s first consider some myths: 1) Role-playing is old-fashioned. 2) One’s background speaks for itself. 3) Scripting is a waste of time. 4) Sharing accomplishments is self-hype. Therefore…. Be confident to make and offer observations. If the conversation remains positive, dare to make recommendations. If the dialogue is fluid, and you begin to be accepted as an expert in a particular area, then discuss what the potential outcomes might be. If the conversation is truly “give and take”, then ask whether your prescription, if followed, has merit. Still going well? Then...make a proposal to solve a problem(s). That's ultimately when the conversation takes off, creating a potential peer-to-peer engagement vs an interview...whereby the interviewer holds all the cards.
