Trident's Lake, Pond & Stormwater team recently completed a job which involved removing invasive vegetation from a retention basin that had been neglected over the past 20 years. By doing so, Trident helped the community avoid a township fine while improving the quality and functionality of the retention basin. Sampling groundwater for laboratory testing can be accomplished a few different ways and is done for various reasons. After considering access issues, short- or long-term monitoring purposes and subsurface/groundwater conditions, a regulatorily permitted monitoring wells like the one shown is often utilized. While we don’t always know what we are going to encounter when drilling and constructing these wells, on this sunny day by the lake we got what we expected! #groundwatermonitoring #monitoringwell #fieldwork #TridentEnvironmental

More and more landfill spaces are being utilized for the installation of solar panels and the generation of electricity. In every instance, a rigorous regulatory review and assessment process must be conducted, followed by obtaining regulatory approval to proceed. Trident prepares the permit applications for its clients, ensuring federal and/or state approvals regarding the design and installation of the solar array. Following approval, we can perform all construction monitoring and reporting in accordance with permit requirements to ensure the engineered landfill cap is unaffected by the improvement. Construction defects can involve environmental pollutants. Mold, as the best example, is often found where a Construction Defect of some kind has occurred. That said, sometimes it’s about suspected physical damage rather than potential contamination. Soil sampling is conducted for all kinds of reasons! Sometimes the samples go to the laboratory for analyses and sometimes we make the call in the field. Either way, an experienced professional who understands the geology being encountered during any project is critical.
