First anniversaries - They're always special. We recently celebrated the first anniversary of our James Island Emergency - the island's first. It reminded us of the importance of cultivating and nurturing relationships. We're especially thankful for the support we've received from the Town of James Island and its leaders like Town Clerk Frances Simmons, who was recognized in the opening comments by Jeff Wilson, President, Trident Health, and CEO, Trident Medical Center. We also appreciate the warm welcome we've received from Karen Thompson, executive director of the Sea Islands Chamber of Commerce, and its members. #HCAHealthcare

We Show Up! We joined our Summerville Medical Center colleagues this morning to volunteer and run in a 25th annual event to support one of our long-time partners, The ARK of SC. The support they provide our community’s residents with Alzheimer’s is heartwarming. #hcahealthcare

Restoring Hope - Our Michelle Ruse, DDS joined Raphael James at WCSC-TV Live 5 News to talk about the life-changing work she and her colleagues at Head & Neck Specialists l Charleston do every day to restore ears, nose, jaw and other body parts patients have lost due to head and neck cancer. The practice is one of the few in the US that have oncologists, dentists, oral pathologist, therapists, and nutritionists in the same building. In memory of Marissa Clark - Today’s Honor Walk was a celebration of life - for the life Marissa lived and for the lives she gave hope to through her organ donation. A highlight of our year is Signing Day for the Trident Technical College Charleston Regional Youth Apprenticeship Program. This year marked the program’s 11th anniversary. Trident Health President and Trident Medical Center CEO Jeff Wilson is leading us through Tropical Storm Debby - his first SC Lowcountry storm since he arrived earlier this year. Considering the rain we've had, it's appropriate the headline in a recent article featuring him in the Charleston Regional Business Journal used the phrase "charting a new course."
