?? The Trump administration’s recent actions have devastated global humanitarian efforts. In January, all U.S. foreign assistance programs were paused. Now, 2,000 USAID workers have been fired, thousands of foreign service officers placed on leave, and 92% of all outstanding USAID grants have been canceled—setting back a half-century of progress in international development efforts. Trickle Up's mission has always been to build a world free from #ExtremePoverty. But beyond that, we do this work because we believe, deeply, that investing in women is the right thing to do. Trickle Up partners with women living in extreme poverty to drive social and economic inclusion and promote sustainable livelihoods. We drive large-scale change by partnering with governments, global institutions, and local organizations. Trickle Up was founded in 1979 at a time when "trickle down” economics was the conventional wisdom. We watched the poor getting poorer while the rich benefited from this approach. Trickle Up founders Glen and Mildred Robbins Leet knew from their experience that nothing empowers an individual to achieve their dreams more than the trust and encouragement of another human being. They put into practice what their experience had taught them: investing in individuals at the grassroots level is the most powerful antidote to extreme poverty. Over 38 years later, Trickle Up continues to be a critical vehicle for the social and financial empowerment of women living in extreme poverty. Trickle Up focuses on the toughest challenges in global poverty alleviation: to reach the poorest, most vulnerable, isolated people and create trajectories towards financial independence. We have lifted over one million people worldwide - particularly women, people with disabilities, refugees, and indigenous people - out of extreme poverty and into a better quality of life. On February 21, 2025, Professional Assistance For Development Action (PRADAN) and Trickle Up, in collaboration with the Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Government of #Jharkhand, successfully hosted a ?????????????????? ???????????????? at Pashupalan Bhawan (Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Govt. of Jharkhand) in Ranchi. The event brought together over 200 enthusiastic participants, including government officials, social entrepreneurs, experts, NGOs and women livestock farmers, to discuss the importance of small livestock in supporting extremely poor and vulnerable families. ?? Women farmers shared their transformational experiences in livestock rearing ?? Experts highlighted challenges, opportunities, and innovations in the sector. ?? The discussion also underscored the significance of policy support, training, market linkages and leveraging technology in enhancing sustainable livestock farming.
