Rather than tell you that representation matters, we're showing you! This was the moment we took our team to Whole Foods to show them that their coffee is now on the shelves ???? The reactions speak for themselves. Having a product on mainstream grocery store shelves that features a team of talented baristas and roasters with disabilities matters. Representation matters! #321Coffee #SpreadLove #InclusionMatters #CoffeeLovers #Inclusion #Positivity #WholeFoods

In partnership with Ready, Set, App!, Lenovo was excited to host its first Learn at Lenovo event for middle school students. This event taught students about creative thinking and user-experience design, two skills that are imperative to the app-building process in Ready, Set, App! Students got to experience firsthand what it’s like to design innovative tech at Lenovo. #NCBCE #WorkBasedLearning #CareerReadiness #FutureWorkforce #CommunityEngagement #NCStudents

This is a great story as it brings hope to all parents with children that are struggling.
A “SPECIAL” KIND OF HOPE ... As many of my colleagues and friends know, my son Logan was diagnosed with Autism at the age of two. My wife Robin and I have been on a long and challenging journey that started with a formal diagnosis, followed by a “professional assessment” that painted a bleak picture of Logan’s future. Not willing to accept the conventional (negative) prognosis, we developed our own game plan and assembled a team of doctors, therapists, teachers, and parents.?After years of intervention, Logan was still lost in an autistic fog, non-verbal with frequent tantrums.?While the pathway forward seemed narrow, we continued to try new therapies, techniques, and tricks to make a meaningful connection. Then around the age of 5, Logan started to respond (albeit slowly) to targeted therapies and a few months later, he uttered his first “I Love You Mommy”. Filled with hope, we continued to make slow but steady progress as this beautiful boy started to emerge. What I was not prepared for (once I suppressed the original diagnosis and associated limits) was how high Logan could climb if placed in the right environment. ?In 3 weeks, I am proud to say that Logan is flying home after successfully completing his first year at Shepherd’s College, a one-of-a-kind special needs school in Wisconsin.?The attached show (Small Town, Big Deal) is a “must watch” for parents wondering what life could look like with their child living independently (with assistance) at Shepherd’s College. The growth that we have seen in Logan has been incredible. I have been blessed with the opportunity to walk alongside several colleagues and friends who recently started their journey as special needs parents.? I encourage everyone to seek help and support from those who have already traveled this road and if you don’t know anyone, please feel comfortable in connecting with me on LinkedIn.? Peace! Romans 12:12 ~ Be Joyful in Hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

An amazing testimony that celebrated Professor Arday's mother for her persistence and unwillingness to give up on her son.
Diagnosed with Autism at the age of three, Cambridge University Professor Jason Arday didn’t speak till 11 and didn’t learn to read and write until he was 18. UBS was privileged to have Professor Arday, the youngest-ever Black academic to hold a Professorship at Cambridge, join us for a recent event entitled ‘At the intersection of race, neurodiversity, and culture.’ Along with sharing his inspirational story, he told Jake Scrivens, Global Head of Litigation and General Counsel for Credit Suisse, about the need to dispel the myths and misconceptions that remain about neurodivergent people and what they can bring to the workplace. UBS is committed to an inclusive culture for all and so it’s very encouraging to hear the professor describe his experience of our firm and our culture as a ‘fertile soil.’ #shareUBS
