关于我们
The Triangle East Region of North Carolina, is made up of communities at the Eastern tip of the Raleigh Triangle strategically located at the center of commerce on the East Coast of the United States, with access to a qualified workforce, North, South, East & West Interstates & Class A Rail. You will find no better market for Distribution and Manufacturing for the eastern half of the country. Since 1970, the Greater Smithfield-Selma Area Chamber of Commerce has been a strong economic force with a big picture outlook for Smithfield, Selma, and their neighboring communities. During 2018, the Smithfield-Selma Chamber put their vision for a strong, unified region into action and reached out to area towns for support. The communities of Archer Lodge, Cleveland, Kenly, Micro, Pine Level, Princeton, and Wilson’s Mills all responded with enthusiasm. Together, the communities have created a new name to represent the partnership of all 9 communities: Triangle East. As the eastern section of the Triangle Region of North Carolina, this community-led choice of identity connects the region to the thriving economic and educational environment to which it already belongs. This region is growing exponentially and each unique town working in cooperation with the Triangle East Chamber, contributing their individual perspectives, will only open up more opportunities for the future of Johnston County. This new era is one of inclusivity, bringing the history, voices, and resources of each town to a partnership meant to work toward a strong and thriving future for all of the citizens in the region.

From virtual reality demos, robot races, and gowning and hairnet competitions - our Novo Nordisk North Carolina team worked to engage nearly 4,000 teens over two days.?Their passion creativity always impresses me as they volunteer year after year to help cultivate curiosity about careers in biotechnology at the annual #JOCOWORKS exploration event. Novo Nordisk has been the Presenting Sponsor for JOCO WORKS since its inception in 2019, partnering with Johnston Community College; Johnston County Public Schools; Triangle East Chamber ; Clayton Chamber of Commerce; Johnston County NC - Economic Development, and more. We see the value in sparking interest early in these 8th graders and helping them understand the different career paths that can lead to a rewarding job in the life sciences...right here at home. Few of these students realized that our global healthcare company is just down the road. And many didn't know we’re the largest private employer in Johnston County, with more than 2,000 employees at two manufacturing sites in Clayton and a third facility under construction, our largest yet in the U.S. We also made sure the students were aware that this year Novo Nordisk teamed up with Johnston County Public Schools and Johnston County Community College to start offering the #BioWorks program at every high school in Johnston County. Juniors and seniors can complete the free course in one semester, learning the fundamentals of working as a technician in biotech. It counts as one year of work experience in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility and qualifies students to be hired for roles right after graduating high school. We hope this event inspired young minds to explore the companies and careers they might never have known were in their backyard - including #TeamNovoNC, making medicines for millions of patients around the world.
