Since 1971, Triangle has empowered people with disabilities and their families, growing from a neighborhood nonprofit to a statewide leader of innovative services. We provide individualized employment, residential, health and life development opportunities that help people lead rich and fulfilling lives. Many of Triangle’s cutting-edge services such as TAPS (formerly IMPACT:Ability) and School-to-Career have received national awards and serve as models for other organizations. We continue to move forward through a new community-based day program and our international growth with the Accessible Icon Project, a transformation of the International Symbol of Access.

Mildred David Smith and her sister Mary Davidson Kenner were inventors born in the 1910s. When Mildred was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), the sisters worked together to create tools and toys to make life easier and more convenient.
