The City is proud to be using American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to support the University of Iowa Labor Center's Quality Pre-Apprenticeship Program. By working with community partners like Dream City IA and New Creations International Church, this program provides a path for underrepresented communities to be trained for a career in the building trades. The Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Building Trades Council is an invaluable partner in this program, supplying guest instructors, touring sites, and finding job placement. We are thrilled to announce that Green Family Auto has chosen Tri-City Electric Co. to design and construct 3 solar energy systems for their Quad City Area dealerships. The 3 systems will total 1,251 kW and will save Green Family Auto an estimated $4.9M over the lifetime of the systems. The systems will reduce carbon emissions by an estimated 24,377 tons of CO2, which is equivalent to planting 365,581 trees. GO GREEN is Going Green and Tri-City Electric Co. is honored to bring #ConfidenceDelivered to these solar projects.
