Oh the places my camera has been … Dangling from a 16ft jib, staring into the abyss, wondering how it got here. It’s been in the streets, the mountains, the middle of nowhere, and now—stuck watching a ladder and some cables, waiting for the next take ?? It has seen faces light up and fall apart, hands build and destroy, moments unfold and disappear. It remembers the shots I’ve forgotten, the ones that never made the cut, and the ones that weren’t supposed to happen but did anyway. If it could talk, I’d probably owe it an apology. Everything in its right place For over a decade, I’ve followed Daniel Arsham’s work—his ability to reimagine time and material, blending the ancient with the futuristic, has been a huge inspiration in my own creative journey. So when Kohler brought me on to capture his latest work at Whistling Straits, it felt like everything aligned. The setting? A world-class golf course along the Lake Michigan shoreline. The centerpiece? Bronze Eroded Venus de Milo, standing timeless in the landscape. Filming Daniel alongside Stephen Malbon and Malbon Golf was a rare intersection of art, sport, and culture—one of those projects that reminds me why I love what I do. As a director and filmmaker, I thrive in moments where brands trust the vision—where the right people, the right concept, and the right timing come together to create something lasting. It’s story time… ????? With Harley-Davidson Motor Company gearing up for their new homecoming, I can’t help but think back to the graphics package we crafted for the event two years ago. My Studio designing visuals for childhood icons like the Foo Fighters? Surreal. And yeah, Green Day deserves its flowers too (I might’ve learned a riff or two back in the day). But let’s talk about the real story—the one that doesn’t make the highlight reel. This project came in hot: last minute, tight budget, and the vibe that everything was already overdue. We hustled hard, working late nights, delivering everything on time, and, honestly, crushed it. The excitement was high. Everyone was buzzing about seeing the show. But then came the curveball: “Hand over all the working files… at no cost.” Wait, what? That wasn’t part of the deal. But when you’re a small business facing a giant like Harley, you sometimes have to choose the path of least resistance. So, we obliged, stayed professional, and saw our work reused the following year without credit. Here’s the thing, though: moments like these shape you. They remind you to focus on what you can control—working with integrity, delivering exceptional work, and staying true to your word. Those values? Non-negotiable. In the end, did we craft work we’re proud of? Yes. Was it seen and enjoyed by thousands? Absolutely. These moments remind me to celebrate the process, not just the wins. Justin Williams said it best: “The first wheels you won a race on… you never forget that feeling.” …and yes, those were Zipp wheels. For Justin, this project brought his love for the brand full circle. For us, it was all about capturing that passion and the relentless drive of L39ION. Directing and filming this was an absolute rush—chasing Justin and Corey through the streets of LA with a small but mighty team. Tight logistics, fast bikes, and high stakes made this shoot unforgettable." Sometimes, the stars just align ????♀? I got a DM from across the country about a shoot for Vuori x L39ION, and they needed some photography to support the partnership. The twist? The athlete turned out to be my friend Skylar. Easy vibes, a perfect subject, and the chance to break out my collection of favorite city spots made this one special.
