Recently, Steve Smith and Amanda Glasscock visited Lone Star College-CyFair to deliver a one-of-a-kind customer service training. Attendees were engaged by the session’s interactive and fun format, which sets it apart from more traditional approaches. At Lone Star CyFair, the focus was on building meaningful connections between staff and students by understanding and meeting their expectations in every interaction. This approach went beyond surface-level tips like smiling and saying thank you, offering instead a novel, energetic, action-oriented experience that resonated with participants. By prioritizing a culture of customer service and belonging, Lone Star CyFair is ensuring these principles become part of the day-to-day experience for both staff and students alike.

She has led pivotal projects in our Learner Insights research, tackling topics from students’ basic needs to broader challenges in education and workforce development, solidifying her role as a cornerstone of our continued growth. We’re excited to see Allyson lead our research team into this next chapter, driving data-informed strategies that make a meaningful difference for learners, institutions, and communities.

Congratulations to Dr. Wynn Rosser on being named Texas’ next Commissioner of Higher Education by unanimous vote of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Dr. Rosser’s leadership builds on the Coordinating Board’s legacy of addressing critical challenges in higher education.
