Watch Alex Gartenfeld, Irma and Norman Braman Artistic Director, and Andi Potamkin, Trustee and Chair of ICA Miami's Facilities Committee, reflect on the evolution of the museum Sculpture Garden. Recently replanted in partnership with Miami-based green infrastructure company TREESOURCES, ICA Miami’s Sculpture Garden now showcases over 50 species of native plants, including Dade County Slash Pine, Silver Palm, Saw Palmetto, Leather Fern, and Pepperleaf Sweetwood to name a few. This initiative reflects the museum’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. Treesources is a green infrastructure firm of scientists, arborists, and creatives, who act as therapists, mending the relationships between built and natural environments. During this project, they reimagined the sculpture garden as a sanctuary that nourishes both migratory birds and beneficial pollinators as much as it does its patrons. “We strive to be as thoughtful with our facilities—with our garden, with our plantings, with our collaboration with Treesources—as we are with artists.” — Alex Gartenfeld Next time you’re in the Miami Design District, stop by our Sculpture Garden to immerse yourself in art and nature! ?? https://lnkd.in/dBrJq3J ——— #ICAMiami #MiamiMuseum #MiamiArt #SculptureGarden #TreesourcesMiami #Plants #NativeSpecies #Sustainability #Art #Nature
