This week, our company had the privilege of hosting U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Aditi Dussault, SBA's Associate Administrator for the Office of Entrepreneurial Development (AA/OED),?and Anna Lucas Director of the Office of Rural Affairs from the National Office in D.C., along with Marjorae Ball, Economic Development Specialist from the SBA Louisiana Office. We are grateful for their leadership and insights, and we are inspired by their commitment to support and visit small businesses like ours. We toured our campus café location at Baton Rouge Community College and shared how the SBA THRIVE program is helping us grow as a food service company driving success in two key profit centers: higher education campus dining and corporate catering. A heartfelt THANK YOU to the U.S. Small Business Administration and SBA T.H.R.I.V.E. for your unwavering dedication and collaboration in empowering small businesses. We look forward to proudly graduating in December! #foodservice #SBA #smallbusinesses #louisiana

Proud to partner with East Baton Rouge Parish School System- Alternative Programs to give back and inspire the next generation. Our CEO, Chef Tre, had the incredible opportunity to lead a hands-on culinary session at the Students With Achievement Goals (SWAG) Summit, sharing his journey and industry insights with students. A huge thank you to Baton Rouge Community College’s Culinary Department for collaborating with us and assisting in the demos—it was amazing to work alongside their students as we invested in these future chefs. The kitchen is more than a place to cook—it’s a launchpad for success, and these students proved they’re ready to take off! #LeadershipThroughService #FutureChefs #TresStreetKitchen #SWAGSummit #EBRSchools #BRCC

  • Tre's Street Kitchen is honored to have Kristen C. Smith, our co-founder and chief experience officer, featured in Teach For America Greater Baton Rouge's Black History Month spotlight! Before launching Tre's Street Kitchen, Kristen's journey began in the classroom, where teaching became one of her greatest joys. Her experience as an educator shaped her leadership, strengthened her commitment to service, and inspired her work—especially when she saw former students stepping into their own as educators. We're grateful to Teach For America Greater Baton Rouge for recognizing Kristen's impact and for their dedication to uplifting the next generation of leaders!

For todays Black History Month Highlight, we're pleased to introduce you to Kristen C. Smith, the Co-founder and Chief Experience Officer of Tre’s Street Kitchen? (www.tresstreetkitchen.com), a local and national award-winning, family-run business redefining higher education campus dining, corporate catering, and stadium services. Since its launch in 2020, Tre’s Street Kitchen? has become the first of its kind to secure contracts with all three major higher education institutions in Baton Rouge—LSU, Southern University, and Baton Rouge Community College. Under Kristen’s leadership, the company has achieved a remarkable 99% growth rate in 2024 and established partnerships with industry leaders like Chartwells and Aramark, solidifying its reputation as a trusted innovator in food service.????????????????????? Kristen began her professional journey as a Teach for America corps member in South Louisiana from 2014 to 2016. She later advanced to leadership roles, including co-founding an organizing organization and working in policy and advocacy. As a policy intern with the Louisiana Department of Education, she played a pivotal role in advancing legislation that established a student fee task force to promote transparent fee assessment practices for public and some nonpublic schools. Kristen’s ability to understand end-user needs and drive impactful solutions has been a cornerstone of her career. A trailblazer in both education and entrepreneurship, Kristen has received numerous accolades, including graduating from Morgan Stanley’s Small Business Academy in 2024 and winning the Urban League Of Louisiana Women in Business Annual Pitch competition. Her thought leadership extends to policy, highlighted by her co-authored article, The Sistahs Will Be All Right: Advancing a Policy Agenda for the Modern Black Woman, published in the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Journal for the Center of Policy Analysis and Research.
