?? Celebrating a week dedicated to National Rural Health Day ?? Traverse City is set to become a testing ground for an experimental medical-delivery drone system, thanks to a collaborative project led by Traverse Connect. This initiative aims to deliver medicine and medical supplies to rural areas using uncrewed aircraft systems, significantly improving health care access for underserved populations. ?? Project Overview: The project, funded by a grant from the Advanced Aerial Mobility Activation Fund, involves key partners including Munson Healthcare, DroneUp, blueflite, and Central Michigan University’s Rural Health Equity Institute. The goal is to enhance rural health care outcomes by reducing the time and distance required for medical deliveries. ?? Our Role: Central Michigan University’s Rural Health Equity Institute will serve as a research partner, focusing on how aerial drone medical delivery can better serve rural populations. This partnership underscores CMU’s commitment to leveraging technology to address healthcare disparities in rural communities.
