We are thrilled to share the third instalment of this podcast series that we worked on with AREF exploring ESG myths within the Real Estate Sector. ? In this episode Partner Sarah Walker (Alder) along with Sam Carson and Alice Teboul examine two common misconceptions surrounding biodiversity. ? Listen below! https://lnkd.in/ePvDhdXE
???Biodiversity & Real Estate – Why It Matters More Than You Think In the latest episode of?The ESG Myth Busting Podcast, we turn our focus to?biodiversity—a topic that is often overlooked in real estate but is becoming a critical part of ESG strategies. Our experts?Sarah Walker (Alder) from Travers Smith, Sam Carson from CBRE UK, and Alice Teboul at Columbia Threadneedle Investments EMEA APAC?debunk two common misconceptions: ???Myth 1: "Biodiversity has little to do with real estate" Biodiversity is often associated with rural environments, but the build environment has a direct impact on ecosystems. How can the real estate industry integrate biodiversity into investment and development strategies? ???Myth 2: "Biodiversity is just an extra cost" There’s a perception that biodiversity initiatives are expensive add-ons rather than essential business considerations. But could failing to act actually lead to higher financial and regulatory risks? ????Listen now:?https://lnkd.in/edJh9FUA With biodiversity becoming a key focus in ESG frameworks and regulation, this is a conversation the industry cannot afford to ignore. ???Our final episode in the series drops next week—stay tuned! We would like to thank our speakers and all at Travers Smith, AREF Affiliate Member, for their collaboration in producing this podcast series. Their expertise and support have been invaluable in bringing these discussions to life. #Biodiversity #AREF #ESG #NetZero #Sustainability #AREFPodcast #ESG #Sustainability #RealEstate #arefnews #investmentmanagement #realestatefunds #propertyinvestment #property #fundmanagement #realestateinvestment #esg_at_aref

Private Intermittent Securities and Capital Exchange System (PISCES)?- HMRC publishes guidance on share schemes and valuation As part of the Spring Statement, HMRC has published guidance on how trading events on PISCES (the new form of trading platform for private companies coming into effect later this year) will interact with tax-advantaged EMI and CSOP options, as well as their impact on share valuations and the PAYE/NICs treatment of shares. One notable announcement is that existing EMI and CSOP options cannot be amended to introduce a PISCES trading window as a new exercise event (although HMRC will keep under review the case for a change in legislation to permit it).
