Facts about Tanzania 1. When you are visiting Tanzania, be careful as the lions there can climb trees. It is a unique species of lion that can climb the trees other lions cannot climb trees. 2. Baobab trees are not native to Madagascar and South Africa. They can be found in Tanzania as well. Baobab trees can easily live for a millennium and some of the trees have been around for 6,000 years. 3. Lake Tanganyika is the second-largest lake in the world with an area of 32,900 square kilometers. The lake is fed by 50 streams and there are 500 fish species in the lake. The lake is bordered by Tanzania, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia. 4. A trip to Tanzania will be incomplete without spending some time on Zanzibar beaches. The views are astonishing. 5. Chimpanzees can be found in Tanzania’s Mahale National Park in the west of the country near the lake Tanganyika. In the national park, chimpanzees can be seen in their natural habitat. 6. We can see massive migration of zebras, and wildebeasts in the wild jungle of Tanzania. There are nearly 2 million animals relocate from one area to another in search of grassland. The most interesting part is when they are crossing the Mara River and endangering their lives from crocodiles. 7. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the best places to visit in Tanzania.
