Keep these tips in mind while navigating potential travel complications: 1. Preparation is key – pack smart. Bring essential items — such as medication, chargers for your electronic devices and a change of clothes in your carry-on luggage. If you're traveling with children, consider items that will keep them entertained during long travel distances or through delays. 2. Have a backup plan. If you know you’re traveling during potential bad weather or busy times, have an idea of what you might do if flights get cancelled. You’ll feel less panicked if the situation does happen. 3. Stay informed. Keep a close eye on the weather conditions at both your departure and destination locations in the days leading up to your trip. Yi Peng, commonly known as the Floating Lantern Festival, is celebrated annually in Chiang Mai. You may be familiar with the lantern release portion of this festival, but the three-day event also includes a parade and often coincides with the Loy Krathong festival at which floating baskets are released on the river.
