"I have been reflecting recently on differentiating between investing my time in what keeps me busy and what is important. It is a common and expected response in our society, when asked, 'How are you?' to reply: 'Busy' - and then move on.?What might happen if the authentic response was 'I am both fulfilled and restored because I am doing what matters most'?" - Dr. Elizabeth Meeker in Note from the Network (our e-newsletter!) "I spent years reinforcing the belief that I was 'the dumbest person in the room,' but neuroscience showed me how these beliefs were formed and how they could be changed ... 'I feel stupid' evolved into 'I am a learner,' and 'rejection is failure' shifted to 'rejection is redirection.' Over time, I stepped into a version of myself I had always wanted to be—someone confident in herself." In her inspiring essay for our blog, Shubhi Gautam recounts how her discovery of neuroscience empowered her, changing long-held core beliefs about herself and her own abilities. Through her work with Mind Wellness Lab, Gautam uses her insights and experiences to help high school and university students dismantle self-limiting beliefs and unlock their full potential. I cannot think of a better way of starting the year than being together in person with my full team. Our time was wisely invested getting to know each other better, visioning together and creating our dream tree (seeded with our actions and growing our hopes). Thank you to Katie Haverly who lead us in an exercise to become in tune with our essence pace and robbie wilten who co-designed and facilitated the day with me. I am truly grateful to be a part of this amazing team.

There are plenty of situations in life where you can agree to disagree. But sometimes, that’s simply not an option, especially in situations where someone else’s views and beliefs—and expression of those views and beliefs—hurt you or violate your boundaries. While most of us don’t like difficult conversations or enjoy conflict, we know that avoiding hard conversations doesn’t make our problems go away. It’s best to proactively address issues with the people in our lives through open and honest communication (whenever safe and possible). We’ve compiled a list of tips on how to have difficult conversations with people who disagree with you. Read the full list here: https://lnkd.in/gaW3RqDi
