The Trauma Informed Workforce Training enhances people's skills when working with traumatised populations. The training is suitable for police, paramedics, correctional officers, ED staff, teachers, domestic violence workers. Trauma-Informed organisations are most successful when all staff understands the theories, practices and values of the model. We offer training on what a trauma-informed approach is and why it is important. Training topics include: - Understanding the stress response - Understanding the physiology, neurobiology and behaviour of trauma - Trauma informed care - How to respond to people in crisis, with complex childhood trauma & PTSD - Understanding the nervous system regulation through a Polyvagal lens - Understanding and managing vicarious trauma - Post traumatic growth. A trauma informed workforce can make decisions, create interactions, and provide support that is in line with research and has a framework to offer prevention from the impacts of chronic stress and cumulative trauma. Your trainers: Cherie Gillett - Counselling & Support Services Cherie is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over 15 years’ experience working with traumatised groups focusing on child and adult sexual abuse and domestic violence working internationally, across Australia and now locally in Port Macquarie. Krystal Hawkins - Port Integrative Therapy Krystal is an Accredited Clinical Social Worker and an accredited EMDR Therapist. Krystal has been providing psychotherapy to people who have experienced PTSD and complex trauma for almost 15 years.
