Tuesday, December 3rd, was a great day! Transportation Matters is so proud to have worked with the Veteran's Administration (VA) to provide safe, reliable transportation to a 6-year Navy veteran and mother of two. The story of how we were able to help in such a meaningful way began when a woman donated her beautiful Ford Explorer to us with one ask: "I request the recipient of this SUV to be a Military family who needs a hand-up, to honor my father and his service in Vietnam." Now that we had the vehicle and the family, all that was left was to make it perfect. After the VA's request, we quickly contacted one of our affiliate repair shops, American Pride Automotive in Toano, and they went through the donated vehicle stem to stern, even replacing the transmission, ensuring a safe and reliable donation.Although small, we are doing our part to care for those doing all they can to stand firm on their own two feet. #transportationmatters
