Wondering if your work has been used to train the world's largest #AI systems? There are now two search engines that will check your name and/or work against the scraped data used by tech companies to create their generative artificial intelligence models. We've bundled them, along with tutorials on opting out, on our new Learn resource page at?TransparencyCoalition.ai. Hat-tip to?The Atlantic?and Spawning for doing the hard work of bringing these tools to the world and furthering transparency in AI.

Keep an eye on Transparency Coalition.ai -- they are doing great work. And Rob Eleveld's approach is the smart one.
"The Seattle-based Transparency Coalition wants to export those laws to a half dozen more states in 2025. The nonprofit is also advocating for a “duty of care” approach to AI regulation, similar to how other consumer products are regulated for safety. Transparency Coalition Chairman Rob Eleveld said Trump’s election does not affect his strategy and that the organization’s work in the states is with “a 100% bipartisan lens.” “We have taken a state-focused approach not because of which administration is in power in Washington, D.C., but because Big Tech is at this point the biggest lobbyist in D.C. and has that town wired with massive lobbying budgets,” Eleveld said in an email. “We have found state level officials much more willing to move out in front in protecting their citizens.”" https://lnkd.in/g4SSec8T

Meet the newly updated Transparency Coalition website. Over the past few months, we've been leaning deeper into the education side of our mission of championing policies that ensure AI technologies are developed and used in ways that prioritize safety, transparency, and the public good. One of the primary ways we do that is through our website, which we aim to make a must-see resource for those who care about responsible AI policy. In this update the website, you'll find: - a *new* Learn section - A resource repository intended to explain fundamental concepts in artificial intelligence and AI governance in accurate and non-technical language. - Updated and detailed proposed Solutions page with four clear ideas on where policymakers should start. - Updates to our About Us page so you can learn more about the philosophy of TCAI and the people behind it. - A redesigned News page to help you find what you're most interested in, quickly. Take a look, and let us know what you think. We always appreciate your feedback on how we can continue to make the site as helpful for you as possible.

Great analysis by the Transparency Coalition.ai on Adobe's new AI-based text-to-video tool called #FireFly.
Adobe's limited release of its Firefly AI text-to-video tool this week represents a leap forward in available AI technology. We took a dive into the risks and opportunities presented by the breakthrough product. One intriguing aspect: Adobe embeds Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA)-compliant 'Content Credentials' into objects created or altered with Firefly. That's the kind of embed-and-disclose authentication required by the new California AI Transparency Act, which TCAI testified in favor of earlier this year. Check out our post to see how Content Credentials work, and learn why we expect more states to pass similar laws in 2025. #AI #deepfakes #AIsafety

Gov. Newsom's veto of SB 1047, the omnibus AI regulatory bill, grabbed the NYT, LAT, and WaPo headlines over the weekend. Meanwhile, Newsom quietly signed one of the most consequential AI bills to emerge from Sacramento this year.
Over the weekend, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the California AI Training Data Transparency Act (AB 2013) into law, securing a landmark victory for safety and transparency in AI. For the first time ever, generative AI developers will be required to daylight basic information about the datasets used to train the world's most powerful AI systems. At Transparency Coalition.ai, we were honored to work with Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin and her staff to move this critically important legislation across the finish line. The standards established here are already inspiring other state and federal leaders to take up the cause of AI transparency. Stay tuned for an exciting 2025! #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #trainingdata #AISafety

In our biggest day since Rob Eleveld and I got started with our work at Transparency Coalition.ai, Governor Newsom of California has signed Asm. Jacqui Irwin's pioneering Training Data Transparency Bill, CA AB 2013, into law! This is a critical first step in increasing transparency, reliability and trust in Generative AI. https://lnkd.in/gCeDg3x7 Congratulations and a big thank you to Asm. Irwin and Brandon Bjerke for their hard work and vision on introducing this and getting it across the finish line! It was our privilege at Transparency Coalition.ai to support you in this effort.
