Translators without Borders (TWB) is a global community of over 100,000 language volunteers helping people get vital information and be heard, whatever language they speak. Since our founding in 2011, the TWB Community has contributed over 90 million words in 3,077 unique language combinations for over 200 partner organizations. And our impact keeps growing. Today, TWB is at the core of CLEAR Global, a US-based nonprofit organization that provides language support and technology solutions to partner nonprofits. For Falmata, the top priority is ensuring her family’s safety and meeting their needs. But now, she faces a new obstacle — being unheard. This giving season, we’ll follow the journey of Falmata*, a young mother of two who fled her home in northeast Nigeria due to conflict and arrived in a camp for displaced persons. However, she can't speak or understand the languages being used by the humanitarian staff in the camp.?She therefore can't access health services, safety information and other essential assistance displaced persons require.
