In honor of Black History Month, we celebrate the incredible Mary Eliza Mahoney, the first African American licensed nurse. A pioneer in healthcare and women's rights, Mahoney overcame racial and gender barriers to make history. Her dedication to nursing, equality, and advocacy for African American nurses continues to inspire today, and her legacy lives on through the Mary Mahoney Award and her induction into the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
