TRC Co-Directors Alnoor Ladha & Lynn Murphy are honored to be guest editors of Kosmos Journal's latest issue on Healing Wealth. This issue offers a breadth and depth of perspectives on healing wealth for our troubled times, and embraces a more expansive vision of wealth itself. "We believe the process of healing wealth (including money, resources, ourselves, ancestors, relations, biomes, ecosystems, etc.) involves moving from the pathologies of domination and exploitation central to the project of colonial capitalism towards life-centric, liberatory ontologies." We are grateful to the many contributors and allies including Bayo Akomolafe , Jason Hickel, Chuck Collins, Chung-Wha Hong and Sara Mersha of Grassroots International, tiokasin ghosthorse, among others who share their potent wisdom. Transmuting the poisons of capitalist modernity- including its ultimate abstraction and mediation, capital itself, into medicine, perhaps even into the ultimate medicine, water itself- is the aim of this issue. May the dams of wealth flow into the places that need it the most. Explore the full issue here: https://lnkd.in/eMNJuNAS #healingwealth, #postcapitalistphilanthrophy, #KosmosJournal, #postcapitalism

We work with resources and resource holders to alchemize and liberate capital to be in service to Life.
关于我们
We are the Transition Resource Circle (TRC), a collective of activists, funders, writers, cosmologists, and researchers dedicated to tackling the root causes of our meta-crisis. We foster transition pathways to guide us from our current meta-crisis to adjacent possible futures that serve Life. We work with/in/through philanthropy to alchemize and liberate capital toward post capitalist realities rooted in liberatory and post-anthropocentric values such as solidarity, relationality, reciprocity, interbeing, and animism. We see the wealth concentrated within the opaque sector of philanthropy as the world’s shared, collective endowment, built upon the backs of countless generations and an accumulation of human, and more-than-human labor, destruction and sacrifice. Philanthropy believes it is part of the solution. And sometimes it is. Yet, all too often, philanthropy exacerbates our current exploitative system through undemocratic and unaccountable processes – for example, by increasing endowments through existing market mechanisms – and through a lack of imagination on how to support the requisite paradigm shifts. This will require more than a paradigm shift; it will require ontological shifts in seeing, being and relating with the world. We call this work Justice Plus Onto Shifts. We believe that the philanthropic sector requires a deeper structural analysis of power, privilege and capital; a more experienced understanding of how to build transition infrastructure; a stronger relational web of partners, communities and organizations; a circle of allies to support the necessary inner work of contemplation and accountability, decolonization and spiritual/political praxis to go beyond extractive capitalism and make kin with the living world once again.

?? New Issue: "Wealth as a Transition Pathway" We're excited to announce the release of our latest issue, "Wealth as a Transition Pathway," created in collaboration with #CultureHackLabs. This issue builds on our recent webinar exploring narratives to advance Post Capitalist Philanthropy and delves into transforming wealth and philanthropy from the paradigms of extraction and control to liberation and regeneration. ?? Explore the Issue: https://lnkd.in/gnWA2PHF In these challenging times, we offer this special issue to collectively sense-make and navigate our way forward. You'll find a rich collection of reflections and provocations on wealth as a transition pathway—how we might heal and liberate wealth from neoliberalism to create post-capitalist realities that serve Life. Some of the compelling themes and contributors include: -Jason Hickel, economic anthropologist, on Democratic Ecosocialism as a transition pathway to address our meta-crisis. -Shrishtee Bajpai, Juanma Crespo, and Ashish Kothari, activist-scholars, explore the journey from the devastating legacy of colonialism and nation-state divisions to the potential of radical democracy through bioregionalism. -Alnoor Ladha and Lynn Murphy focus on philanthropy as a territory of transition, aiming to rebalance wealth, knowledge, and power while repairing historical injustices. Our ultimate goal is to transmute the poisons of capitalist modernity, including its ultimate abstraction and mediation—capital itself—into medicine, perhaps even into the ultimate medicine: water. May the dams of wealth flow into the places that need it most.
