This report provides a comprehensive roadmap to modernize signalized intersections across Florida, emphasizing the urgent need for advanced technology and policy updates to improve safety and traffic efficiency. By focusing on smarter infrastructure, digital upgrades, and targeted investments, we aim to address the unique risks faced by vulnerable road users, including pedestrians and cyclists, and reduce congestion that affects all road users. Our findings align with the #VisionZero initiative, underscoring the potential for well-planned intersection improvements to save lives, reduce accidents, and build a safer transportation future for Florida.
