In Memoriam: Miguel Sánchez It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Miguel Sánchez, a cherished member of our team and community. Miguel’s roles were many: a dedicated board member of the Transformers Foundation, the innovative technology lead at Kingpins, a skilled engineer, a profound chemist, and an unparalleled expert in denim. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a mentor, a teacher, a devoted husband, a loving father, and so much more. Miguel’s legacy extends far beyond his work, touching the lives of friends, family, colleagues, and countless individuals whom he inspired and guided. We will miss Miguel deeply. In honor of his memory, Andrew Olah has penned a tribute on the Kingpins Show website, reflecting on Miguel’s profound influence on the denim industry and the impact he had on all of us. We invite you to read this tribute and join us in celebrating Miguel’s life by sharing your own memories, stories, and thoughts in the comments section. Miguel’s spirit and contributions will forever be a part of us. ?? 关于我们
In spite of its size as market segment and industry, Denim Manufacturing has never been represented by an organization to defend its importance and value in front of other business stakeholders, neither with Brands nor with NGOs focusing their activities in Fashion and how it is produced. The voice of Denim has not been strongly heard in the media either when each company involved in any part of Denim Manufacturing was fighting for themself to express how Innovative and Technically Advanced is our Industry. Based on the continuous feedback from the Kingpins Exhibitors about this lack of representation and the interest on having continuous coordination, information and education throughout the complete supply chain, the Transformers Foundation was formed as a non-profit organization. Transformers Foundation aims to be the central point for the Denim Industry, working at different levels (educational, collaboration with other organizations to cover all social, eco-tox and technical topics, and also generate new interest from the market on a really high added value type of Fashion).

?? How does exclusion lead to disengagement? ?? MSIs are designed to unite diverse voices, but many suppliers feel left out due to bias and structural inequity. The result? Burnout, disengagement, and a loss of trust. This cycle of exclusion not only silences suppliers but also hinders the creation of effective sustainability solutions. MSIs must address these tensions for true progress. ?? Explore how we can break this feedback loop: https://lnkd.in/ePz2gUPb?

?? What’s holding back true progress in MSIs? ?? Colonial histories, implicit bias, and power imbalances still shape many MSIs today. These barriers, often hidden behind well-intentioned goals, push suppliers to the margins of decision-making. “Collective Action Reimagined: A Call for Fair Process and Supplier Inclusion in Fashion’s Multi-Stakeholder Initiatives”? reveals how structural and functional inequities limit supplier voices, leaving sustainability solutions incomplete. Addressing these deep-rooted challenges is key to achieving collective progress that benefits all stakeholders. ?? Let’s uncover how to foster a more inclusive and effective future: https://lnkd.in/ePz2gUPb #Sustainability #SupplierVoice #FashionChange #CollectiveAction #MSIs

?? Are fashion’s multi-stakeholder initiatives (MSIs) as inclusive as they claim to be? ?? Supplier exclusion is rooted in not only systemic barriers, but structural inequities that shape MSIs. Our report “Collective Action Reimagined: A Call for Fair Process and Supplier Inclusion in Fashion’s Multi-Stakeholder Initiatives” delves into how exclusionary norms and governance structures replicate power imbalances. Suppliers are left out of critical conversations, decisions are often made by brands and retailers, and the cycle of disengagement continues. It’s time to shift the conversation and center supplier voices in crafting sustainability solutions. ?? Read more on how we can break this cycle: https://lnkd.in/ePz2gUPb?
