Community of action researchers and reflective practitioners who support sustainability transformations
关于我们
We are a generative space and a catalyzing force for sustainability research and practice, knowledge creation and action. Our global community of transformation “pracademics” (both practitioner and researcher) is responding to a growing recognition that we need new approaches to address climate change and other existential threats to social-ecological systems. We strive to act as a bridge for connecting people who is working to catalyze transformations across different sustainability-related domains (e.g. water, energy, food, biodiversity), siloed disciplines and fields, places and cultures, and institutional settings like academia, government, NGOs, private sector. Over the past 10 years, we have organized conferences in Oslo, Stockholm, Dundee, Santiago, online in 2021, and in Sydney, Prague, Maine, and online in 2023.

?? How Can Conferences Enable Transformative Innovation? A new publication, "Building a Knowledge Infrastructure for Transformative Innovation Policy", explores how conferences can go beyond knowledge-sharing to actively support knowledge integration and second-order learning for transformative action. Using the TIP Conference 2022 as a case study, the authors, Diana Velasco, Bipashyee Ghosh, Alejandra (Sandra) Boni, Katharina Schiller, and Laura Winkler, propose a framework for developing a sustainable and inclusive knowledge infrastructure to drive transformative innovation policy. This research highlights how experimental conferences can facilitate learning, unlearning, and the alignment of visions, key components in shaping pathways for transformation. ??
