"Nonprofits and rights advocates are sounding the alarm about?H.R. 9495, or the Stop Terror-Financing and Tax Penalties on American Hostages Act. The bill would provide tax relief for U.S. nationals and their spouses who are unlawfully or wrongfully detained or held hostage abroad but also includes?legislation?to terminate the tax-exempt status of "terrorist-supporting" groups." This terrifying legislation could be weaponized by the Trump administration to revoke the nonprofit status of any organization they consider an adversary including abortion funds, LGBTQIA groups, racial justice groups, climate advocates, and many others. The Treasury would not be required to give a reason or evidence for the designation. In addition to losing 501C3 status, organizations wouldn’t be able to receive bank services or donations. This would devastate the social sector. So many essential institutions would be lost at the discretion of the Trump administration. https://lnkd.in/ekdECDy9

This year in particular, many leaders are thinking about preparing their organizations to respond effectively to circumstances outside their control. Over the last several months, we've worked with teams on scenario-planning projects.?Our process not only supports teams in taking a measured approach to anticipating potential outcomes but also?increases leaders' capacity for proactivity and resilience within their organizations. We are available for one additional project through the end of 2024 with more expanded availability in 2025. If you'd like to talk about what is on the?horizon for your organization or any other planned transformations ahead, drop us a note at [email protected]!

We specialize in transformation projects. Deep transformation is often a slow and steady process that can take place over several years. Fortunately, there are moments when we have the opportunity to take stock of where we were, how far we've come, and what we're excited to tackle next. The launch of the Krupp Family Foundation website is exactly that. It includes: -Organizational Values (2021) -Grantmaking Process (2022) -Revised Mission Statement (2023) -Strategy Overview (2023) -Independent Board Members (2024) Incredible work Liana Krupp and Gabriella M. “... it remains difficult and necessary to walk the talk of shifting internal organizational cultures to align with the world we’re trying to build” Aria Florant emphasizes the critical need for progressive organizations to align their internal cultures with their external values, drawing on her own leadership experience and challenges as CEO of Liberation Ventures. Florant discusses the challenges of power dynamics, the harmful weaponization of antiracism frameworks, and the necessity of building reparative organizational cultures. She calls for a deep, systemic approach to repair, highlighting the importance of transforming our relationship with power to create organizations, coalitions, and a nation we can all thrive in. https://lnkd.in/g5RHT9WV

A beautiful offering from two movement leaders to meet this moment! If you're an organizer feeling the effects of the 'burnout engine' sign up to join the Movement Refresh intro convening: https://lnkd.in/dNGX84E2
Hi LinkedIn! I’ve spent the beginning of this year realigning my consulting practice and decided to take an intentional pause to figure out how I want to move forward. I feel like I’m ready to share one of the offerings for clients with a dear friend and collaborator. Over the past few months, Tianna Arredondo and I have been reflecting on the state of the social justice movement, especially climate. What we've seen and shared is there is a deep shortage of resources and a lot of burnt-out people. I’ve spoken with lots of people who have felt they haven’t gotten much of a break since 2016 and there’s barely been enough movement-wide recognition of the prolonged sprint turned marathon in a post-Trump and since the start of COVID pandemic era. This burn out engine has left a lot of folks leaving the movement and worse, the resources don’t seem to be flowing fast enough and in ways that support people and organizations in addressing the height it’s reached. That's why Tianna and I have come together to provide offerings that work on both centering DEJI principles and more expansive visions for equity and decolonial strategies that support individuals to navigate the intensity of burnout and/or healing needs they have.?? The main thing we’ve developed is a program called Movement Refresh. It’s an amplification of Tianna’s existing framework and practice, Genuinely Curious, plus our experience as multi-racial and multi-ethnic organizers in the movement space. It is anchored by our lived experiences and builds on the lessons learned, good and bad. The program is intended to be a longer format hybrid in-person and virtual guided process for participants experiencing burnout. We’re hoping to raise the resources to offer that at its highest level. We’ve also been working together to develop webinar offerings about some of the broader concepts and tools as a resource for the community. And finally, we’re excited to welcome clients that would like to collaborate on programming that best fits the needs of their organizations.? If you’d like to find out more about Movement Refresh click here (https://lnkd.in/eD-CnUEZ) & join us on April 24th for an introductory webinar (https://lnkd.in/eSuGwgHq) using the “lies no one told you” healing deck from Tianna’s Genuinely Curious: If you’re interested in collaborating further feel free to message me directly and/or email And stay tuned for any announcements on our offerings.

We just wrapped up a significant transformation project with a national immigrant rights movement organization and were moved by this meaningful feedback from their team! We deeply appreciate skepticism from leaders about working with consultants, in fact, for most of our clients engaging TC is their first experience with external support. At the kick-off of every project, we emphasize that their team are the experts on their organization and we are there as experts on the process. It is so important to our practice at TC that teams feel the right balance of support and autonomy when navigating complicated transitions. #nonprofit #consulting #transformationproject #hiring #leadership #leadershiptransitions #consultingservices

Transformation Collective is now open to new projects starting in April 2024! Annika Morgan and Mikelina Belaineh are two halves of a small consulting team supporting the next generation of transformative nonprofits, foundations, and movement organizations. As former nonprofit founders, operators, and organizers ourselves we aim to be the type of support we wish we had when leading our organizations. As TC, we work with leaders on strategy and operations projects and have come to specialize in supporting teams navigating periods of significant transformation, reflection, or growth.?This can look like: ?? Strategy: Impactful work starts with a solid strategy. We help teams get clear about what they are uniquely positioned to deliver on and what they may need to say no to in order to accomplish their goals. ?? Operations: Bring order to messy and inefficient internal practices by identifying the right combination of people, technology, and processes your team needs to get stuff done. ??♀? Leadership Coaching: There are often challenges that don’t fit neatly into a project. We provide coaching for leaders to talk through recurrent questions or manage through specific moments of transformation. ?? Training + Facilitation: Change can often mean building new skill sets as an organization. We offer team trainings and facilitated conversations on topics including: gender expansiveness, transformative practices, and shared decision-making. Have a challenge that's been slowing down your team since last year? Or a brand new issue that popped up unexpectedly last week? Let’s talk it through: https://lnkd.in/ehBH9b-f #SocialImpact #Transformation #Empowerment #ChangeLeadership #NonprofitConsulting #JustTransition
