Thank you Rajneesh Kumar and Nishant Gupta for visiting our site and for your continued belief in TRI’s mission to Transform Rural India. Your support goes beyond just investment, it’s the consistent mentorship, guidance, and encouragement that truly strengthens our efforts on the ground. We’re grateful for this partnership that brings together shared vision and action. Excited for what we’ll continue to build together!
Today, I was privileged to visit the Aligarh FPC in #UttarPradesh, engaging with inspiring women-led Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), grassroots Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and agri-entrepreneurs. From the institutional architecture of Jeevan Jyoti CLF to the impactful initiatives at Mahila Shakti Kendra, every interaction reinforced the power of collective action in rural India. The Women FPO Office, organic biofertilizer unit, and I-Milk collection center showcased how innovative models transform livelihoods. E-commerce plays a crucial role in connecting these farming communities to broader markets, enabling them to scale their businesses, access fair pricing, and build sustainable livelihoods. At Flipkart, we are committed to strengthening these linkages, ensuring that rural entrepreneurs and farmers benefit from the digital revolution. Additionally, through tne partnership with the Walmart Foundation, we are investing in capacity-building initiatives that empower FPOs, enhance agri-infrastructure, and improve income opportunities for smallholder farmers. A big thank you to all the farmers, SHG members, and FPO leaders and our partner Transform Rural India for their unwavering dedication. The future of India’s rural economy is bright, and together, we can accelerate its growth! #Flipkart #EcommerceForAll #FarmersFirst #RuralEmpowerment #WalmartFoundation #WomenEntrepreneurs Kalyan Krishnamurthy Ravi Iyer Keshav Dhakad Seema Nair Dr. Tafheem Siddiqui Nishant Gupta Sarah Gideon Transform Rural India Persis Khambatta John Lenhart Syed Mansoor Abbas Naqvi Vinamra Dhakad CM Office, GoUP Government of Uttar Pradesh Asim Arun National Rural Livelihoods Mission Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM)

Rural transformation isn’t just about policies, it’s about people taking charge.? From empty Gram Sabhas to 85% community participation, the Localization Model in Madhya Pradesh proves that when rural communities lead their own development change is not only possible but lasting. But what role do NGOs play in this shift?? With digital governance reshaping rural India, NGOs must transition from implementers to enablers who strengthen grassroots leadership, foster participatory governance, and use design thinking to create solutions that truly work.? Neeraj Ahuja, Associate Director, TRI, explores how this synergy of grassroots activism and design-driven innovation is reshaping rural India. Empowering Rural Women Through Community-Led Change! The “Health Change Vector (HCV) Didi” aka “Badlav Didi” is more than just a module—it's a movement where the community itself takes charge to bring transformation in the lives of rural women. Over an intensive three-day training, Didis were engaged in discussions on Gender, Nutrition, Health, and Pre & Post Natal Care. Many of them, deeply rooted in patriarchal beliefs and misinformation, had unknowingly put their own health at risk. However, by the end of the training, we witnessed a remarkable transformation in their mindset. The shift was inspiring ~ Didis who once held deep-seated gender biases were now questioning long-standing myths, embracing informed choices, and feeling empowered to advocate for change. With renewed motivation, they are now ready to take this learning back to their villages, SHGs, CLFs, and VOs, ensuring more women gain access to knowledge, awareness, and better health practices. This initiative is a testament to the power of community-driven change ~ when women uplift each other, transformation is not just possible, it’s inevitable. ? #WomenEmpowerment #CommunityLedChange #HealthChangeVector #BreakingMyths #GenderEquality #RuralTransformation Transform Rural India

"Empowering Women, Envisioning Change: Celebrating International Women's Day Today, on International Women's Day, we recognize the invaluable contributions of women in shaping our communities. As part of our commitment to creating a women-led society, we embarked on a Visioning Experience. This transformative process brought together women from Cluster Level Federations and Village Organizations to craft Annual Action Plans and Business Development Plans. Through aspirational assessments, we amplified the voices of women, uncovering their dreams, ambitions, and challenges. This collaborative effort fostered a sense of ownership, solidarity, and collective empowerment. By dedicating this Visioning Experience to International Women's Day, we reaffirm our pledge to: - Strengthen women's leadership and participation - Promote inclusive decision-making processes - Foster resilient, women-led communities Together, let us celebrate the unwavering spirit of women and continue to strive for a more equitable, just, and prosperous world." #Women's Day| Transform Rural India

As we celebrate #InternationalWomen’sDay, it’s inspiring to see the impact of Walmart Foundation grantees including Professional Assistance For Development Action (PRADAN), S M Sehgal Foundation, Transform Rural India foundation, ACCESS Development Services, Action for Social Advancement (ASA), Bhopal, TechnoServe, Grameen Foundation, SRIJAN (Self-Reliant Initiatives through Joint Action) and celebrate the journeys of smallholder women farmers across India, who are breaking barriers and transforming their communities! The impact created is indeed remarkable- be it through greater participation, improved access to finance, better market reach, improved yields through adoption of natural farming practices, or women farmers gaining agency and decision making. Two shining examples of women, who have harnessed the opportunities through these key collaborations are Muni Heprika and Hemlata Lodhi. From an annual income of Rs. 20,000, Odisha based Muni Heprika’s earnings grew to Rs. 122,914 per year. Being trained under PRADAN’s PROWFIT program on pest control and better cultivation techniques, Muni was able to maximize her yield and income. Likewise, Hemlata Lodhi from Chaurai village who is supported by the project UDAAN by ACCESS Development Services, sold 47.5 quintals of garlic worth Rs 52,250 through the Farmer Producer Company (#FPC), she received payment the same day and earned an additional profit of Rs 9,500 over and above the price offered by local traders. This #IWD, as we #AccelerateAction to empower women to thrive and lead through collective efforts, let us continue to nurture a brighter, prosperous and resilient farming community. When women rise, communities thrive. This International Women’s Day, over 3,000 women gathered, representing over 11,000 women from SHGs, at the 16th Annual Kalyani Mahila Sangh Convention in #Jharkhand to celebrate leadership, governance, and trailblazers who are breaking barriers. With TRI’s support, the event honoured outstanding leaders — women who have joined the police force, led their communities, and transformed lives. TRI strives to keep pushing for a future where every woman’s voice is heard.
