Welcome, Sarah! We're lucky to have you on the team, and are truly looking forward to working together.
It is with bittersweet emotions that I announce I've departed BankTech Ventures, and have joined another VC fund, Trailhead Capital. ?? My time at BankTech has been incredible. The experience alone was invaluable (helping to get a fund launched and to a place of very strong momentum (22 PortCos & counting, already successfully raising Fund II, and most importantly to me, happy LPs!) This encompassed so many learning opportunities that have given me an entirely new appreciation for what it takes to start and keep a business running, have a cohesive team, and be an innovative thinker. But even more importantly, it has been incredible because of the team, who helped make the past 3.5 years the best of my life! So shoutout to Carey Ransom, Brandon Oliver, Pam Kaur, Katie Quilligan, Jake Fuchs, Kaitlyn Shevlin, Samantha Malloy, Wayne Miller, Charles Potts, Carson Lappetito, Eric Sprink. This is the rockstar group who makes it happen. ?? I cannot wait to see all of your guys' accomplishments to come! I've chosen to depart because my interests & passions have developed elsewhere, and at the ripe age of 30, I think it's important to see these new experiences/passions through. So with that, I have joined Trailhead Capital, a venture capital fund focused on investing in Regenerative Agriculture. I've felt strongly about our food quality & our nation's health (or lack thereof) and the evolution of agriculture and it's impact on our climate for many years now, and I believe that Regenerative Ag encompasses the solution (granted, everything is very multifaceted) to these important issues of our current times! 2025... what a time to be alive! I'm in a similar role as I was, as their new Head of Investor Relations and Operations, which is a role I genuinely love in venture (the relationship building with LPs, helping keep the lights on at the fund, supporting the PortCos). With this new role, I am excited, nervous, and all the other emotions that come with big life changes. But at the core of everything, I'm feeling very thankful for all of these opportunities and the people they've allowed me to meet, and very optimistic for all to come! Thank you & my soliloquy is over now, hah! ??
