On this day 80 years ago, the brave soldiers of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and other countries came together to storm the beaches of Normandy in Northern France in what would later go down in history as the most memorable D-Day of all time. Over 156,000 allied soldiers landed on the beaches that fateful day, though over 4,000 would give their lives in the effort to liberate France from Nazi Germany forces. Today we take pause to remember these soldiers, their efforts and their sacrifices which played an astronomical role in world history and ending WWII. God Bless America.
