Tracy Aviary is a non-profit aviary located on eight acres of land in the heart of Salt Lake City. A charitable act by Salt Lake City banker Russell Lord Tracy founded Tracy Aviary when he donated his private bird collection to Salt Lake City and its children. Open to the public since 1938, Tracy Aviary maintains a collection of approximately 400 birds representing about 135 species. Many of these birds are considered rare or endangered.

Blue-winged Teal, like this male here, are the second most abundant duck in North America. Have you seen this species while birding? At the aviary, this species can be found in Kennecott Wetlands Experience. The most abundant duck species is the Mallard. #WaterfowlWednesday

We are excited to welcome a juvenile American Avocet to our flock! This young bird was brought to the Wildlife Center of Salt Lake for medical care and was deemed non-releasable. We’re fortunate to have partnered with Wildlife Center of Salt Lake to provide him with a new, permanent home.
