The Foundation Board of Trustees awarded $21,500 to 22 area schools and organizations that provide health and fitness education and encourage young people to participate in sports and fitness related activities!?? More on the blog! https://lnkd.in/eXmMxkps. On Saturday March 8, the Foundation and Track Shack Events hosted 1500+ children for the annual Smile Mile Kids Running Festival! ??♀??????????? Board members awarded four local schools with the most participants with a $500 grant for their PE departments. ?? - Lake County: First Academy Leesburg - Seminole County: Galileo School for Gifted Learning - Osceola County: Osceola Science Charter School - Orange County: Orlando Science Charter School K-8 East Campus Sincere thanks to all the educators, coaches, parents and kids who are making a difference in our running and sports communities! ???Reflecting on the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Marathon!??? This week, we've been reminiscing about the incredible spectacle of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Marathon held here in February! It was the culmination of a vision shared with our amazing partners: USATF, City of Orlando, Orange County Government, Visit Orlando, and Greater Orlando Sports Commission. Together, we brought this once-in-a-lifetime event to Orlando! From this event, lives were changed as three male and three female American athletes became Olympians, representing Team USA at Paris 2024! We are incredibly grateful to the running industry pros, including RunningUSA, Dave Katz, members of the Atlanta Track Club, NYRRC, Doug Thurston, DMSE and so many others who shared their expertise and manpower, making this a historic event for our sport and our city! ??
