The Translational AI Center is proud to highlight Ashlyn R.! Ashlyn is a Graduate Research Assistant who was recently selected to be in the 2025 Women Impacting ISU Calendar! To learn more about the 2025 Women Impacting ISU honorees, click here ?? https://lnkd.in/gz5rYwU9 Ashlyn Rairdin joined Dr. Arti Singh's research group in January 2020, focusing on using advanced technologies like drones and machine learning to improve plant breeding. With an undergraduate background in biochemistry, she enjoys the hands-on aspect of her research, including performing drone flights, problem-solving, and tackling new challenges. Her goal is to develop tools that integrate drones, AI, and rovers to help breeders and farmers collect data more efficiently. In addition to engaging in research Ashlyn also co-leads Women in Ag and AI, a group that engages in outreach events such as presentations and hands-on activities with students in elementary school through college.?Outside of her studies, Ashlyn enjoys going for walks with her dog and practicing archery. The Translational AI Center is proud to highlight Arbab Arshad! Arbab is a Graduate Research Assistant within TrAC whose paper was recently published in Plant?Phenomics! Check it out here ?? https://lnkd.in/g7XD8_fM Arbab Arshad joined the research group in February 2023, working under the mentorship of Professor Soumik Sarkar. He studied Computer Science as an undergraduate and is currently focused on leveraging Generative AI in agriculture for his research. Arbab enjoys the freedom to explore ideas and appreciates the access to state-of-the-art equipment and resources. Looking ahead, he aspires to engage in work that has a tangible impact on people's daily lives. Outside of his academic pursuits, he enjoys golfing and listening to podcasts or audiobooks.
