Today we saw the successful launch of OGIHARA SA at the Dube Trade Port, in Kwa Zulu Natal. The launch was graced by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Mr. Mpho Parks Tau, and KZN MEC for Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs, Rev. Musa Zondi and Toyota SA’s President and CEO, Mr. Andrew Kirby The purpose of this launch event was to unveil our latest venture called Ogihara SA which is a joint venture between Toyota Tsusho Africa (TTAF) and Ogihara, aimed at enhancing our localization strategy. We firmly believe that this initiative will have a ripple effect of positive change. By creating new sustainable job opportunities and empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMMEs), we are paving the way for a more inclusive and prosperous future for South Africa. With this investment, OGIHARA SA will increase the local content on the Hilux, Fortuner, and Corolla, allowing TSAM to double its efforts of supporting the South African Automotive Masterplan 2035 Local Value Add targets. This Foreign Direct Investment will create 1 237 new sustainable jobs (direct and indirect). We are incredibly proud and grateful for everyone who made this launch a reality. Thank you to the government officials, our partners, and our incredible team for their unwavering support. This is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us and South Africa's automotive industry. Stay tuned for more updates as we drive forward into the future! #OGIHARASA #LocalizationStrategy #JobOpportunities #SMEs #AutomotiveIndustry #FutureDriven #SouthAfrica
