Meet MCOM alumna Katherine Bishop! Katherine graduated from TU MCOM’s strategic public relations track and minored in electronic media and film in 2022. Now you can find her working as a public relations executive for Devaney & Associates in Baltimore County. Katherine enjoys getting to work with all kinds of organizations and learning about new industries. “From Federally Qualified Health Centers to apparel companies or restaurants and more, I am constantly challenged with learning new industries, topics, and trends in the media,” she says. “It keeps me on my toes, and I never get bored!” While at Towson, Katherine’s favorite memory was coming back to campus after COVID-19, walking around campus, and collaborating with her fellow students and her professors. Her advice for future MCOM students? “Get involved! Having extracurriculars and internships on your resume goes a long way, especially when you’re fresh on the job market, and can be a tiebreaker when a company is trying to decide who to hire,” she says. “It’s also a great way to build your network before you leave school.” Excited to see what else you accomplish, Katherine! ??

Here's a chance to meet and network with communications, media and marketing professionals to learn more about career paths and internship opportunities! The event is on Tuesday, February 25 from 5-7 p.m. in University Union, Ballroom D. ??

Meet Sara and Paige, our spring social media interns! They first met in Professor Atwater's Introduction to Media Writing in the spring of 2023 and have been friends since! Together, they love reading and discussing their favorite books. Sara is a student athlete, President of Own Your Roar, Towson Sports Network Intern and Co-President of TU's Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). She plans to take her leadership skills to professional sports after graduation in May 2026! Paige is currently a senior, excited to celebrate her final semester before graduating this May. With graduation on the horizon, she is eager to land a job in advertising and begin her professional career!
