With the state’s years-long drought, there is no longer a “wildfire season.” Fires will happen year-round, which is why the Town of Cave Creek stresses the importance of prevention. The Cave Creek Fire Department is hosting two community meetings to discuss the town’s preparedness for any wildfires in our area. The first meeting is Thursday, March 13, at 3:30 p.m. at the 37402 N. Cave Creek Road fire station. The second meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at the Desert Foothills Library. In addition to the Cave Creek Fire Department, Daisy Mountain Fire District and the Tonto National Forest will have representatives at these meetings to provide information.

Residents are encouraged to attend to learn about the town’s preparedness and what actions a homeowner can take to protect their property.

Strong local leadership makes wise decisions for their communities.?
In response to fire devastation in 2020, the Town of Cave Creek invested in a fire department resulting in 45% of the general fund revenue being dedicated to fire protection— accomplished without any raise in taxes.?HCR2021 would cause severe financial strain on local governments and exacerbate budget shortfalls, ultimately harming residents by triggering alternative tax increases or service cuts.
