Stellar rooftop canopy project coming along in Downtown DC! Shoutout to Aurora Energy, Inc., Cord Briggs, Universal Renewables, and others for bringing this project from a concept to reality. Project consists of three rooftop canopy systems - W System, Flush Mount, and our very custom High Tilt. Utilizing these doubled the roof watt capacity compared to a traditional ballasted system.

With an onsite urban farm producing hundreds of pounds of fresh produce annually, a two-story fitness center, and a complimentary composting program, residents enjoy both wellness and eco-friendly amenities. According to our long-time partners at Compost Crew, the residents, clients, and staff across The Tower Companies portfolio helped divert over 200,000 pounds of compostable waste away from landfills in 2024! Instead of rotting in a landfill and releasing methane, that waste was instead processed in facilities where it could become a nutrient-rich compost. We also recently worked with the landscaping team at Love & Carrots to use some of that resulting compost in our Urban Farm on the Blairs Campus in Silver Spring, which annually produces several hundred pounds of fresh, local produce. I'm excited to speak during next week's webinar with the Green Building Initiative on their new Journey to Net Zero certification. The Tower Companies has been working for many years on building improvements and has gone GHG Accounting since 2010, so we were happy to work with GBI on this new certification program over the past year. One of our office buildings in Washington, DC, The Millennium Building, is being certified as Net Zero Carbon under this framework--the building is all-electric, highly efficient, and we procure renewable electricity to eliminate emissions from operations.
