A reflection on #BCorpMonth from Tourism Cares' CEO Greg Takehara:

    CEO at Tourism Cares

As a non-profit organization, Tourism Cares cannot be a B Corp, but we consider ourselves to be part of the B Tourism and greater B Corp communities. We celebrate its dedication to balancing profit with purpose and ensuring that its operations benefit employees, clients, communities, and the planet. This year's B Corp Month theme highlights the diverse community of large and small businesses committed to using business as a force for good. This movement is about taking action, driving change, and demanding a better future. It is a truly great illustration of what we try and foster at Tourism Cares with our industry members. We take lessons from this community and apply them at large. Please join us in celebrating B Corp Month and the collective impact of Certified B Corps. #BCorp #WhenTourismCares

Tourism Cares ?? our National Parks! In 2016, in celebration of the National Park Service centennial year, Tourism Cares mobilized 775 volunteers to 5 beloved – and lesser known – National Parks around the United States—donating 5,000 hours of service to help preserve our most cherished natural spaces. ?? Fast forward 11 years later, National Parks continue to be just as important to our mission of protecting our environmental and cultural assets and are an integral part of the tourism industry. ?? Did you know? ?? Tourism in National Parks: –> Spurs job creation and revenue: National parks generate significant economic activity in nearby communities and throughout the U.S. economy, supporting jobs and providing revenue.?In 2023, 325 million park visitors spent an estimated $26.4 billion in local gateway regions, generating $55.6 billion in total economic output. –> Protects natural resources: National parks are crucial for protecting and preserving natural resources, including wildlife, ecosystems, and landscapes. –> Preserves historical and cultural resources: Parks preserve and share important historical and cultural resources, offering opportunities for learning and exploration. Protecting our parks is a responsibility we all share. Let’s work together to keep these incredible places thriving for future travelers to come! ?? Let us know your favorite National Park experience in the comments!
