It is with pride that we take a moment to celebrate the passion and laughs with our colleague Dennis O'Meara as he retires from his decade long service to the maritime industry while the Director of Ship Management with TOTE Services. His influence and support included working with a portfolio of customers including American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier Group, Military Sealift Command and TOTE Maritime Marlin class serving Puerto Rico. His contributions, teamwork and leadership will long be remembered for decades to come. TOTE Services is proud to share M/V ARC Endeavor was reflagged to American registry on September 27th as the tenth U.S.-flag roll-on roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessel in ARC’s fleet. The reflag was conducted by the US COAST GUARD in the Port of Baltimore, Maryland. TOTE Services continues to expand their partnership with American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier Group as their ship management company across their fleet of 10 vessels that traverse the waters able to carry tracked and wheeled vehicles, helicopters, and other high and heavy project cargoes to the far reaches of the world. Today, the second National Security Multi-Mission Vessel, Patriot State, a purpose-built, state-of-the-art training vessel for America’s state maritime academies was delivered to MARAD at the Philly Shipyard, Inc. This vessel will be utilized by the #cadets at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy as part of their sea training. Philly Shipyard was awarded the contract to build the NSMVs by TOTE Services, a U.S.-based company hired by the Maritime Administration (MARAD) as the Vessel Construction Manager (VCM) to oversee the construction of the training vessels. The NSMV program is the first government-sponsored shipbuilding program to utilize the VCM model. This model places the responsibility for the selection and oversight of the shipyard on a government contractor that utilizes commercial best practices to manage the project. “The Patriot State is the second of five NSMVs that TOTE Services is managing in partnership with Philly Shipyard. These vessels are a vital investment in the future of maritime in the U.S. and showcase the potential that arises when we utilize the right expertise and resources for the benefit of our country and future generations.
